Each person, has their own taste in Add-ons, and personal preferences. And some users, like to put their own touch to their Build. This is possible, and is relatively easy, when you know how to do it. In this post, I will show you how to add your own items to the Main menu and Submenu. If you want to add an item to your main menu, and not the submenu’s, then please scroll past this guide, and skip to the ”How to add a Main menu item” which is further down the page.

First of all, you need to add, what you want to add to the main menu, to your favourites. (For this post I will be adding Quantum Documentaries, to the Documentary section of the Build)

So go to the Add-On, you want to add to your main menu. (So in my case I need to head to the Quantum Add-On) (See pic below)

Now I need to go into Quantum, and find the Documentary section of this Add-on, and add it to my Favourites (See pic below)

To add anything to your Favourites. Just highlight, what you want to add, and hold ”Ok” on your remote, and the option will show, like in the pic above, once the ”Add to Favourites” is highlighted purple, click ”Ok”

Now that I have added the section I want to my favourites, I can now add it to the submenu.  And need to head over to ”Systems” and press down to the submenu, and click ”Skin Settings” (As shown in pic below)

Once you have clicked on Skin settings, you will see the Skin settings screen. (Shown below)

You now need to scroll across, and click the ”Setup the Aeon Nox Main Menu” (As shown Below)

Once in the Aeon Nox Main menu, you will see the list of sections on the left hand side. TV-Guide, Movies, VOD, and so on… (See pic below)

You now need to go to the section, you are looking to edit, or add to. So in my case, I need to go to the ”Documentary” section (See pic below)

Once you have highlighted the section you need, as I have the ”Documentaries” You need to scroll across, and then down to ”Manage Submenu” and click it. (As shown below)

Once you click ”Manage Submenu” you will see a list. Don’t be phased by this list. It is just the list of submenu items. (Pic Below)

Because I am adding a new section to the submenu, I need to scroll down and click the ”Add” option. (Pic below)

Once you click ”Add” you will see a <none> icon on the left, as shown in the pic below:

The <none> icon will be highlighted on the left. you need to scroll down and select the ”Change action” option. (Pic below)

Once you click the ”Change action” you will see a list of options (Pic below)

We now need to scroll down and click the ”Favourites” option. As the Add-On we are adding in this section, is in our favourites. (Pic below)

Once you click ”Favourites” your Favourites list will show, in my case, I only have this one item added to my favourites. (See pic below)

Click and select the Add-On from your ”Favourites” list which you want to add to the submenu. So in my case it is Documentaries. Once you select the item your adding, it will take you back to the screen shown in the pic below:

Now you have added your item, you will need to name it. So we need to scroll and click ”Set Label” (Pic below)

Once you click ”Set Label” the keyboard will load. You need to type in, what you want to show on the Submenu. So in my case, I need to name it ”Quantum Docs” (Pic below)

Once you’ve typed what your naming the submenu item, click Done. You will now see your new submenu item in the list on the left. (As shown in pic below)

Continuously press back, until you get to the Main menu of the Build. And you will see a Building Menu notification, (As shown in the pic below)

Once the Build menu has done it’s thing. You can scroll to the section, you have added to, so in my case Documentaries. And you will now see your new added submenu item, as shown below:

If I click on the item I have just added, the Documentary section of Quantum will load (See pic below)

Congratulations, you have now added your own item to the Submenu… 🙂

To edit a Main Menu item:

It is much easier, to edit a main menu Item… But first of all, you will need to add the Add-On, or section, you want to add to the main menu to your Favourites. To add an item to your favourites, simply highlight and hold ”ok” and a option will show, with an option to ”Add to favourites”

Again, you need to click Skin settings submenu, under Systems (Pic below)

Once you are in the Skin Settings, you need to click ”Setup Aeon Nox Main Menu item” (Shown in pic below)

Once you have clicked the Setup Aeon Nox Menu, the Main menu list will show on the left hand side. Simply, scroll to the section you want to edit, and then scroll across to ”Default select action” and select it. (As shown in pic below)

Once you have selected the ”Default select action” you will see a list of option, you need to select ”Favourites” (Shown in pic below)

Once you’ve selected ”Favourites” your Favourites list will show. So in my case, the Documentaries is showing, which I added to my favourites. (Pic below)

Once you select the item, you want to add to the main menu, it will return you to the following screen:

Simply, scroll to ”Edit Label, if you want to rename the main menu item. Once done, press back, until you get to the main menu. When you return to the main menu, the Builds menu notification will show. As shown below:

You have now added your Main menu item, and submenu item. As you would have probably noticed, in the ”Set Up Aeon Now Main Menu” section, you can also change the order of the main menu items.
